As a new mom I am more aware now more than ever that it is essential for parents with minor children to have an estate plan. An estate plan, such as a Will or Trust, can answer the most important questions regarding your children when you are no longer capable of taking care of them. For example: Who should care for the children? Who should handle your children’s assets while they are minors.
Answering these questions after a tragedy can lead to unnecessary and costly litigation. A Will or Trust could easily answer these questions. In addition, they can also provide a detailed road map of your wishes regarding your children’s care to the person or persons whom you have chosen to entrust with your most important possession.
